Logical Lead Guitar

Logical Lead Guitar is exactly as the title suggests: A comprehensive, yet easy-to-follow system to up your game as a lead guitar player in countless ways. This course was originally offered as a 5-hour DVD course with 500-page printed manual chock full of fretboard diagrams, tablature, sheet music, and written explanation for hundreds and hundreds of musical examples.

Of course LLG includes everything you ever needed to know about the 7 Diatonic scales and 5 Pentatonic scales -- and so much more, like the blues scale, the modes, the CAGED arpeggios, etc. But instead of just showing you those patterns (which it does), and a few ways to practice those patterns (which it does), the course takes the teaching the final mile:

It literally shows simple sample licks on every single string of every single pattern, all demonstrated on video, and notated in tablature and sheet music. (That's why this course manual ran 500 pages, by the way.)

If you have ever learned and practiced scale patterns, but still struggle to freely improvise at a jam session, or just don't understand how to play a cool guitar solo -- Logical Lead Guitar will turn on the lights for you!

This course has been studied by thousands of players, in dozens of countries, on every inhabited continent on Earth. Well, OK... not Antarctica -- but all the rest of them. And it's earned rave reviews across the board.

The gist of most of the reviews go something like this: "I've been struggling with lead guitar playing for years, and your Logical Lead Guitar course has finally helped me see the light!" and "There is so much material here! Logical Lead Guitar is an incredible value for the money!"

I actually took this course off the market for many years, while I focused on keeping my wife happy and my children fed. But enough of that. I'm happy to get back to the important things in life, like sharing my decades of lead guitar experience and fretboard knowledge with players like you!

My Experience as a Guitar Instructor and Author

I've been teaching guitar for a few decades. I've logged many years teaching private guitar lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in music stores (primarily in the Chicago suburbs), group guitar lessons at renowned instutions such as Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music, and in private lessons both online and on location. Some of my students have gone on to become successful recording artists and to tour worldwide with well-known bands and rock legends, including Joe Walsh, John Tesh, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, and '80s rockers Warrant (Cherry Pie, Heaven).

My YouTube lesson videos have millions of views, and my guitar DVD courses -- most notably, the popular Logical Lead Guitar -- and the many guitar and music instructional books I wrote for music publisher Hal Leonard have been purchased by, shipped to, and studied by guitar students in dozens of countries worldwide. Many of my books are available on the bookshelves at Guitar Center, Barnes & Noble, and many other major retailers.

Much of the knowledge I teach comes from my college music education and first-hand experience as a life-long musician who has played thousands of gigs. But I also had the wonderful experience of learning first-hand from such stellar talents as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Greg Howe, Joel Hoekstra, Vivian Campbell, Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam), Dick Dale, Little Chalie Baty, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Derek Trucks, George Lynch, and countless others when I interviewed and shot video guitar lessons with them during awesome periods of my long-running journalism career. Hopefully, at least a few nuggets of what they all showed me in backstage dressing rooms has filtered into my teaching as well.
